Human sweat itself is not responsible for the permanent odor on polyester textiles, but rather the bacteria that decomposes the sweat. The result is the so-called «permastink»

_ the odor control function technology adsorbs and neutralizes odor molecules produced during wear.
Isovaleric acid (IVA) a focus of testing
Standard DIN ISO 17299, which is concerned exclusively with textiles, allows for four procedures to prove effectiveness or reduction rates. The SANITIZED experts chose measurement with gas chromatography (GC). When this process is used, declines in isovalerian acids (IVA), a main component of human sweat, are detected and measured. This works as follows:
_ Provision of two containers (here: Agilent GC-MS device with 30m pillar and headspace sampler)
_ A textile sample is set up in each container – one sample is treated with Sanitized® Odoractiv 10
_ The textile substrate was subjected to IVA incubation for a well-defined, fixed period of time.
_ Measurement and comparison of the concentration of gaseous chemical odor components in both containers.
The differential value determined in this way represents the reduction rate.
Up to 136 % higher odor adsorption
Measurement results: The effects of surface treatment with Sanitized® Odoractiv 10 were crystal clear. While an untreated textile absorbs only 39 % of the added IVA amount, clothing treated with Sanitized® Odoractiv 10 adsorbs
_ 87% (during treatment with 0.75 % of the product)
_ 92% (during treatment with 1.5 % of the product)
This means adsorption is increased by 123 % or 136 % compared to untreated clothing.
Sanitized® Odoractiv 10 has therefore been proven objectively effective. Sanitized® Odoractiv 10 is so effective, because it is a polyethylene glycol-based silane with anti-adhesive properties. This means,it stops bacteria from adhering to textile fibers and the few that linger can easily be removed through normal washing. It effectively prevents unpleasant odors naturally and sustainably.
